Lets Talk

Today is an important day.  It’s a day to talk, a day to be understanding, supportive and help others, most importantly it’s a day to end a long standing stigma.  Today is Bells 6th Annual Lets Talk day, a day devoted to mental health awareness and ending the stigmas associated with mental illness.  This is a cause that is near and dear to my heart,  as I personally struggled with depression and anxiety as many of you know, and because of my experience I whole heartedly get behind this cause.   Please do your part, hit your social media pages and post, share, tweet, comment, tag, and promote this important and influential campaign by using the hashtag #bellletstalk.  For every text or call made on a bell device, and every post made and tagged, 5 cents will be donated to help fight this stigma and support mental health initiatives.  Please remember there are so many people suffering in silence and it’s our opportunity to show that we care, that they are worthy and deserving of all the love and encouragement this world has to offer.

It you have ever struggled with anxiety, depression, or any other form of mental illness or know someone who has, you know how lonely, hopeless and frightening it can be.  Please extend a hand of friendship, a smile of support, and an ear to listen to those who need it. The smallest gestures and acts of kindness can change the world. Be that change for another and show the world that mental health awareness is important to you too.
I hope you will do your part and type,  share, post, call, text and spread the word in hopes of helping others.  I know I will be.
To those of you who are suffering in silence, know I’m always here should you need someone to listen, or a voice from someone who understands your struggle.  You are not alone, and like me, there are many people who are happy to help and support you along your journey.  Please don’t hesitate to ask me or anyone for help finding a service that is available to you.  You deserve all the happiness in the world!

This post is dedicated to three very important people who have been by my side through the darkness, lifted me up from above, and inspired me to be the best I can be.
To my husband Keith, you are the reason I am still standing strong to this day, and the reason I survived the difficult years following the loss of our sweet niece. You are my rock, my saviour and the love of my life.  You’re a better friend than I deserve,  and I’m so thankful for your unwaivering love and support which is always present at the exact moment I need it most.  You know me better than I know myself, and I believe I found you not just out luck, but because we were ment to cross paths, destined to love and support each other throughout our lives.  It is an incredible and heartwarming belief that I will stand by everyday of my life.
To my angel from above, my Ashlyn, my sweet niece, you are gently guiding me on my journey, and even though I may have been lost in mourning for quite a long time,  you have become my light, the gentle presence guiding and protecting me down the path of the beautiful and love filled life I deserve.  I couldn’t ask for a more beautiful guardian angel, and I missing and loving you always.
To my sweet Lil Bug, my Owen, my baby boy, there is nothing that I wouldn’t do to be the best mum for you.  You push me, you love me unconditionally, and you influence and inspire every aspect of my life.  You challenge me to be my best and brightest self, and I will always push further, love more deeply than the day before, and grow stronger because of each precious moment spent with you.  Thank you for being my inspiration and for enriching my life.  I could never have known I would love this deeply and feel this blessed during my lifetime.

In closing I’m sending all those in need my love, strength and support throughout your journey. You are never alone.
